Hey guys! So, I've recently started smoking hookah and really like it. The only problem with it is the charcoals...I keep either knocking them off the bowl, dropping them after getting them picked up, or just ruining the coal with generally stupid dunderheadedness. I was thinking about getting an ECoal because it's not actually a coal it would (in my thinking) be easier to pick up if I needed to reposision it or something. I also thought about getting some coco coals which apparently come in a cube shape? I'm not really sure about that because I've never seen one but the thought still applies, the shape of it would make it easier to handle. My question is: Has anyone had any experience with ECoals or cubed shaped coals? The ones I use now look just like a little flat disk. Or do yall have any other advice to a new hookah smoker...
And yes, I know I could always have a sighted friend do it (generally I'm with a group so I suppose I could) but I'd rather be able to do something about it if the need ever arises.
I don't smoke, so it is odd I'm answering you, but I've got some ideas I wonder if you've thought about.
Ask your group of friends to show you different types of things you can use.
I guess you go to a bar for this, so ask the person that tends it, to give you some ideas.
Have you gone in to a tobacconist shop to see what might be available?
My last idea might sound silly, because, remember, I don't smoke, but couldn't you place your items on a small tray? They have some small types that could be carried in a pocket, or bag. I'm not talking about a lunch tray. These have lips, so if you knock something off, it isn't likely to roll far.
are you knocking them off while smoking? My roommate uses these. Maybe you can get a larger one or not put so much in it. My roommate has one that is pritty large.

Get a bowl screen. It goes over the top of the bowl, and creates a platform
that your coal sits on. In order to knock it off you'd have to pretty much knock
the hookah over.
I'm wondering here... Can you use a vaporizer?
